NEW YORK (AP) ? Amazon.com Inc. says it has sold out of its Kindle Fire tablet computer amid expectations of a new model for the holiday season.

The Internet retailer has a major press conference scheduled for next Thursday in Santa Monica, Calif. It's widely expected to reveal a new model of the Fire there, so Thursday's announcement that the first model is "sold out" suggests that Amazon halted production a while ago to retool for a new model.

Amazon launched the $199 tablet last November. It was the first Kindle with a color screen and the ability to run third-party applications, placing it in competition with Apple Inc.'s iPad, at half the price of the cheapest iPad.

Amazon doesn't say how many Fires it has sold, but says it captured 22 percent of U.S. tablet sales over nine months. That would make it the second-most popular tablet, after the iPad. Tom Mainelli at research firm IDC said that figure matches his estimate of 6.7 million Fires sold, all in the U.S.

The Fire, which is about half the size of the iPad, could face a tougher challenge this holiday season. Many analysts expect Apple to introduce a smaller, cheaper iPad to take on the threat of the Kindle Fire and reach buyers who can't afford a full-sized iPad. In addition, Google just launched its own Kindle-sized tablet, the Nexus 7, and is selling it for $199.

Amazon kept the price of the Kindle Fire low by keeping it small, stripping it of features and taking a small or zero profit margin. Its strategy is to make the Fire a means for people to buy more e-books, music and movie downloads from the Amazon store, which is intimately linked to the device. That's a contrast to the strategy of Apple, which sees content sales as a sideline and wants to make a profit on every device sold.

Apple has sold more than 84 million iPads since its debut in 2010, contributing to strong quarterly earnings and a market valuation that has exceeded $625 billion ? the highest ever for a public company. The iPad 2, released in March 2011, sells for $399. The newest models, out this past March, sell for $499 to $829, depending on the amount of storage and wireless capabilities.

Amazon itself was the main outlet for the Kindle Fire. Its website now directs customers to used Fires available from other merchants. Staples stores recently sold it for $179. It wasn't immediately known whether some stores still had it on shelves.

Amazon could update the rest of its Kindle line at next week's event, too. The current models were launched a year ago. In the intervening time, competitor Barnes & Noble Inc. has launched a Nook e-reader with a built-in screen illuminator for reading in the dark.

ABI Research said Thursday that sales of dedicated e-readers, like the non-Fire, black-and-white Kindles, peaked last year. It expects worldwide sales of e-readers at 11 million in 2012, down from 15 million in 2011.

The research firm expects tablets to outsell e-readers 9 to 1 this year, despite costing four or five time as much. Still, e-readers won't go away completely, ABI analyst Joshua Flood said.

"We believe there will always be a niche market for the dedicated reading device for voracious readers, business travelers, and educational segments, particularly ones that are low-priced," Flood said.

Shares of Amazon, which is based in Seattle, fell $1.40, or 0.6 percent, to $245.72 in afternoon trading Thursday.

Progress Energy Florida seeks renewable energy project proposals

Progress Energy Florida has issued a request for proposals for renewable energy projects. According to documentation issued by the company, it is looking to offset the need for new power plants by contracting with renewable projects. A variety of projects can qualify, including those the produce electricity from biomass, renewable hydrogen, solar, geothermal, wind, ocean power, hydroelectric or waste heat from manufacturing.

In addition to being renewable, the project must also meet several other requirements to qualify. The project must be cost-effective, meaning that it can deliver electricity at a cost that is equal or less than the cost to build new power generation. The project must also be able to operate in a predictable and reliable manner. In addition, eligible projects must be located in Florida and be fully operational by June 1, 2018. Finally, a project must be capable of producing a minimum of 1 MW of power.

According to Progress Energy Florida, it has two types of renewable energy contracts that have been pre-approved by the Florida Public Service Commission. An as-available contract doesn?t contain an obligation to deliver power to Progress Energy Florida, and payments are based on the fuel savings that that Progress Energy achieves due to the purchases. A standard offer contact contains an obligation to deliver energy to Progress Energy Florida on a reliable basis. Payments are based on the power plant, or part of a power plant, that the company doesn?t have to build due to this purchase.

Progress Energy Florida also said that it is willing to negotiate other agreements in situations where neither the as-available contract nor the standard offer contract is not satisfactory for an eligible project.

Christian in Pakistan blasphemy case ruled a minor

ISLAMABAD (AP) ? An official medical review of a Pakistani Christian girl accused of desecrating the Quran has determined that the girl is a minor, a lawyer for the girl said Tuesday.

The finding, which means the girl will be tried in the juvenile court system, could possibly defuse what has been a highly contentious case in Pakistan, where blasphemy can be punished with life in prison or even death.

The accusations against the girl have inflamed religious tensions in Pakistan, and sparked a mass exodus of Christians from the girl's neighborhood who feared retribution from their Muslim neighbors.

About 300 of the Christians who set up camp in a field outside the capital were evicted from the site Tuesday, and their makeshift church was burned down.

The attorney, Tahir Naveed Chaudhry, said a report by a medical board investigating the age and mental state of the girl determined she was 14 years old.

He also said the board determined her mental state did not correspond to her age. It was not clear whether that meant she was mentally impaired. Some Pakistani media reports have said the girl has Down syndrome.

Chaudhry said a bail hearing has been scheduled for Thursday, and that he would move to dismiss the case after the hearing, saying there was "no solid evidence" against his client.

He said he saw his client Saturday in the Rawalpindi prison where she's being held and that she was "weeping and crying."

The Associated Press is withholding her name because it does not generally identify underage suspects.

The girl was accused by a neighbor of burning pages of a Quran, Islam's holy book. But many aspects of the case have been in dispute since the incident surfaced a little less than two weeks ago, including her age, whether she was mentally impaired and what exactly she was burning.

The lawyer said a birth certificate provided by the church put her age at eleven years old, but in the end the medical board determined she was 14. Generally, birth certificates must be issued by the Pakistani government to be considered legal documents.

The case has spotlighted once again Pakistan's troublesome blasphemy laws that critics say can be used to settle vendettas or seek retribution. Many of Pakistan's minorities, including Christians, live in fear of being accused of blasphemy.

Hundreds of Christian families have fled the neighborhood where the girl lived, fearing a backlash from their Muslim neighbors.

Over the weekend a group of about 300 cleared out a section of land in a forested part of an Islamabad neighborhood and built the skeleton of a church from branches, complete with a cross, and were using it to hold prayer services.

Christians in the area said Tuesday that in the middle of the night, people burned their makeshift church to the ground. Then the group was evicted from the site.

By midafternoon a group of about 150 Christians had gathered in the park a few hundred meters (yards) from the clearing where the church once stood. Many had nothing to eat until an aid group delivered some rice.

"We are helpless. What can we do? We are just sitting here," said Naseem Javed, who was holding her 3-year-old son in her arms. "They don't even want us to have a place to pray."

Residents from nearby houses gathered in the clearing where the makeshift church stood. One of them, Babar Minhas, said according to city regulations the land was supposed to be an open space of trees and grass and was not to be used as a settlement.

In a sign of their clear animosity toward the Christian group, he questioned whether any of them were even from the Islamabad neighborhood where the blasphemy case originated.

Once someone is labeled as a blasphemer, even if they are never convicted, they can face vigilante justice by outraged Pakistanis. In July, thousands of people dragged a Pakistani man accused of desecrating the Quran from a police station, beat him to death and set his body alight.

The potential public backlash has also deterred many from speaking out in favor of changing or repealing the blasphemy law. Last year two prominent politicians who criticized the law were murdered, one by his own bodyguard, who then attracted adoring mobs.

Could Paul Ryan&#39;s small business ties aid the GOP? | The Salt Lake ...

When small business owners vote in the presidential election in November, one factor in their choice may be Paul Ryan?s ties to a small company, the construction firm in Janesville, whose roots go back to the business his great-grandfather started in 1884.

New York ?

On his way to becoming a congressman from his hometown of Janesville, Wis., Paul Ryan worked in a small business ? a construction company with roots that reach back to the firm that his great-grandfather started in 1884.

Although the future GOP vice presidential candidate worked at Ryan Inc. Central doing marketing for just a short time ? from 1997-98 ? that experience may help the Romney-Ryan ticket. The obstacles that small businesses face hiring more workers are among the biggest issues in this presidential election. The perception that Ryan understands their problems could bring in votes ? even though he was chosen largely because of his conservative stance on federal spending.

"I always appreciate folks who have spent time in the real world," says Nick Balletta, CEO of TalkPoint, a New York firm that runs online broadcasts for businesses. "In the real world, there?s payroll that needs to be made, bills that need to be paid and customers that need to be satisfied."

The GOP might convince business owners that despite the brevity of Ryan?s time at the company that "it was a valid experience and he would be more likely to understand their situation," says Trey Grayson, director of Harvard University?s Institute of Politics. He also may appeal to independent voters including small business owners in parts of states like Wisconsin, Florida, Nevada, Illinois and Michigan that have struggled more than other areas of the country, says David McCuan, a political science professor at Sonoma State University in Rohnert Park, Calif.

"Ryan helps at some level in certain states," he says. "It?s an open question of whether he helps in the big picture."

Both Ryan and Vice President Joe Biden have spent almost all their working lives in politics. Biden was elected to the New Castle, Del., County Council shortly before he turned 27 and to the Senate when he was nearly 30. Ryan was 28 when he was elected to Congress. Biden?s resume doesn?t include time at a small business, but he talks about the financial struggles of his father, who lost money in business ventures, had to move in with Biden?s grandfather and had jobs that included cleaning boilers and managing a car dealership. That has helped voters identify with his middle-class childhood, McCuan says.

"Biden does a really good job of connecting with the common working person" and that appeals to small business owners, he says.

Ryan has that quality as well, and "brings that everyman kind of pitch" to the GOP ticket, McCuan says. That can mitigate the feeling among voters that Romney can?t connect with people, he says. But, he adds, both candidates look like a regular guy, someone you?d want to have a beer with.

Biden?s experience as vice president is more relevant than his resume.? "No matter what the background of Joe Biden was before, that trumps everything else," Grayson says. ?

Nonetheless, Ryan?s small business ties will likely come up during the campaign.

Ryan Inc.?s operations include excavation and building site preparation for commercial and residential construction. It also builds golf courses and creates wetlands. Although it?s based in Janesville, much of its work is done elsewhere ? it has offices in Elgin, Ill., and Hagerstown, Md., and has worked on projects across the Midwest, Northeast and Southeast.

"What we do is move piles of dirt from one place to another" using equipment like bulldozers, says Adam Ryan, company president and Paul Ryan?s cousin. Their grandfathers were brothers.

The company has between 100 and 125 full-time employees at its three locations and during the construction season, that number rises to between 300 and 500 workers, Adam Ryan says. Ryan Inc. is small enough that it doesn?t make the list of the 40 biggest employers in Rock County, where Janesville is located. But the business is highly regarded in the city of nearly 64,000 because of the connection to the Ryan family, says Vic Grassman, Janesville?s director of economic development.

The cousins went to high school together but didn?t work together at Ryan Inc. Adam joined the firm after Paul was elected to Congress. Paul Ryan, who earned less than $30,000 at Ryan Inc., helped the company "figure out what kind of work we should be pursuing," Adam says.

"My recollection is that it did lead to projects for us," Adam says. Neither he nor the Romney campaign could provide specifics. Paul Ryan doesn?t have an ownership stake in the company, according to his cousin and the campaign.

Like other Republican lawmakers, Paul Ryan has called for the repeal of the health care law that the Supreme Court upheld in June. He?s critical of government spending and regulations created under the Obama administration. Although Ryan and Romney have campaigned on issues like health care and regulations that affect small companies, Adam Ryan says his biggest concern as a small business owner is getting more sales in a construction environment that remains weak following the recession.

Injury and pain becomes just one more challenge that adds significant frustration, seemingly stalling progress towards our goals. Addressing imbalances in strength and flexibility restrictions protects and maintains healthy joints so we can continue to push our training forward at a steady pace.
Consider that gradual onset anterior knee discomfort, no ?injury? to speak of, but it certainly can derail a lot of training programs, gradually the lower body training programs need to be revamped and tolerance/ability to perform cardio at previous intensities can very often be significantly affected. Whether you are currently suffering from some twinges, had chronic anterior knee pain or have no history, you can benefit from a good look at the health of your knees?actually we should look at the general health and balance of the lower extremities as foot /ankle as well as hip and core can most certainly affect knee pain.
Let me explain?As we all used to sing??ankle bone connected to the knee bone?? the mechanics of the lower extremity is important to look at from a pre-hab or re-hab perspective. Often the knee pain is actually a symptom arising from more proximal weakness, lower extremity flexibility restrictions or altered foot mechanics. In a closed chain environment the ankle and hip certainly have strong effects on the mechanics of the knee.
Take a few moments to assess lower extremity flexibility and strength.

Flexibility restrictions of the?
Hamstrings: flexibility restriction in the hamstrings can increase the demand on the quadriceps during extension of the knee which in turn places increased joint forces at the patella-femoral (PF) joint.
Quadriceps: decreased flexibility in the quadriceps can increase PF joint compressive forces.
Iliotibial band (ITB): tight lateral structures contribute to a lateral patella pull and patella tracking dysfunction.
Tightness in any or all of the above structures can increase stress on the knee or alter joint mechanics contributing to an increased risk of experiencing knee pain.
Also consider the Gastrocnemius and the hip flexors: decreased flexibility here can lead to an altered gait pattern that can place abnormal stresses on the knee.

Considering strength and muscular balance
Decreased activation/recruitment and strength of the quadriceps with particular consideration to the vastus medialis oblique (VMO) can create an extensor lag and contribute to increased lateral deviation of the patella and increased stress on the extensors with activity. Greater dynamic stabilization is necessary in terminal knee extension requiring good balance and strength throughout the quadriceps muscle group for proper patella tracking to reduce risk of anterior knee pain.
Decreased strength in the lateral hip including the hip external rotators and abductors can lead to valgus collapse at the knee altering knee/PF joint mechanics contributing to knee pain. The principle here?control mechanics of the knee from the proximal joint.
Also consider controlling mechanics of the knee from the distal joint?pronation at the foot/ankle creates a valgus at the knee as well. Strengthening the ankle/foot through a variety of balance and proprioceptive activities to limit/control pronation should be part of the program. If pronation is a more structural problem vs. functional, orthotics or a change in footwear may benefit.

Important: Put it all in motion
Keep in mind that just improving lower extremity flexibility and improve strength will not correct your mechanics until you correct your mechanics, correct and practice your form to correct mechanics as you improve your flexibility and strengthen the offending weaker muscles.
Considering these strategies can help you improve your training, correct imbalances and reduce some of the factors that may contribute to knee pain. Keep your training on track with a little time investment including some assessment of strength and flexibility; take the time to address the mobility restrictions and strength imbalances. If you are struggling with knee pain consult with a local MD/PT to help you get to the source of the problem.

Big Ben takes out frustrations on Bills

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) - After showing his displeasure toward the Pittsburgh sideline, Ben Roethlisberger then took out whatever frustrations he had on the Buffalo Bills' defense in the Steelers' 38-7 preseason victory on Saturday night.

Roethlisberger finished 17 of 24 for 169 yards passing, including a 6-yard touchdown pass to Antonio Brown to cap a 98-yard drive in the final seconds of the first half. Brown also scored on a 39-yard TD pass from Byron Leftwich a minute into the second half in helping the Steelers (No. 7 in the AP Pro32) improve to 2-1.

"I just started calling my own plays," said Roethlisberger, who at one point angrily gestured at his sideline after the Steelers were penalized for an illegal substitution early in their 98-yard march. "We went no-huddle and up-tempo, and we were throwing the ball."

Brown finished with seven catches for 108 yards and was impressed with how the Steelers responded from a slow start.

"It was all Ben," Brown said. "It's all about how you respond to adversity. I think we did a good job rallying back toward the end of the half."

Isaac Redman also scored on a 2-yard run, Leftwich threw two touchdown passes, including a 10-yarder to Derrick Williams, and running back Chris Rainey capped the rout with a 41-yard touchdown run with 2:44 left.

The Steelers defense also contributed, forcing three turnovers - a forced fumble and two interceptions - all of which led directly to touchdowns.

The Bills (No. 19) dropped to 0-3 this preseason while continuing a trend of familiar struggles on both offense and defense. And that's not what coach Chan Gailey was looking for this week in expressing a desire to see more consistency from his starters.

"The one thing that we have not had all preseason camp is learning how to handle our composure," Gailey said at halftime, referring specifically to the defense giving up the touchdown drive at the end of the second quarter. "They kind of got rattled and lost their composure a little bit. And that is what we have to work on."

The Ryan Fitzpatrick-led offense managed just 131 yards and seven first downs in playing the entire first half. It was limited to scoring just one touchdown - Fred Jackson's 1-yard plunge - despite five of seven possessions inside Steelers territory.

The Bills defense was sharp for much of the first half, before wilting on the final drive in allowing the Steelers to go ahead 14-7 with 13 seconds left.

Fitzpatrick finished 7 of 18 for 89 yards, while backup Vince Young struggled in his bid to clinch the No. 2 job. Young went 12 for 26 for 103 yards passing and two interceptions.

On the bright side, Bills defensive end Mario Williams - who became the NFL's highest-paid defensive player after signing a six-year $100 million contract in March - was credited with his first two sacks of the preseason. Defensive tackles Kyle Williams and Marcell Dareus also had a solid game in plugging the middle while also flushing Roethlisberger out of the pocket.

The trouble was a failure to finish, in allowing the Steelers to score despite being backed up deep in their own end.

With starters expected to get very limited - if any - playing time in the Steelers' preseason finale against Carolina on Thursday, Roethlisberger showed he's ready for the regular season in finishing the first half.

In closing the half with a touchdown, the Steelers gained more yards (99 in total) than the 96 they had in their first six possessions.

And it was a drive that was going backward before Roethlisberger got fired up.

With the Steelers backed up at their own 2, they were penalized for an illegal substitution coming out of a timeout. After showing his displeasure by pointing to his own sideline, Roethlisberger responded two plays later. Facing third-and-9, Roethlisberger hit running back Jonathan Dwyer with a perfectly placed 33-yard pass up the left sideline.

He eventually hit 8 of 9 attempts for 95 yards on the drive, and against a Bills defense that had kept him in check for much of the first half.

Roethlisberger did it with an offense that's missing two key starters, running back Rashard Mendenhall (right knee) and receiver Mike Wallace (contract holdout). And it was a unit that lost rookie first-round draft pick, right guard David DeCastro, who did not return after hurting his right knee on the second possession.

It didn't take long for the Steelers to build their lead in the third quarter.

Taking over for Fitzpatrick, Young had his first attempted intercepted, when he floated a pass toward the left sideline that was picked off by Troy Polamalu. Leftwich then hit Brown with perfect pass deep over the middle on the next play from scrimmage.

Leftwich finished hitting 5 of 8 for 105, and his TD to Williams came shortly after Robert Golden intercepted Young early into the fourth quarter.

The Bills' only scoring drive came on their second possession, and set up by Fitzpatrick's 25-yard pass in hitting David Nelson on a crossing pattern over the middle.

Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill is starting his second consecutive preseason game tonight, and for the second consecutive week he?s failed to complete 50 percent of his passes.

At halftime, Tannehill has completed 11 of 25 passes for 112 yards, with no touchdowns, one interception, one fumble and a passer rating of 40.8. Tannehill?s best play was a 15-yard run.

Tannehill?s accuracy has been a problem, although he hasn?t had a lot of help, either from his offensive line or from his receivers. Davone Bess has been solid, with four catches for 59 yards, but Tannehill hasn?t had many open wide receivers other than Bess, and tight end Anthony Fasano has dropped three passes.

The Falcons, who lead 9-3 at halftime, have gotten more going in their passing game, with Matt Ryan completing 12 of 18 passes for 162 yards, and Julio Jones catching four passes for 90 yards. Tannehill may be looking at Jones and wondering why he doesn?t have any receivers with that kind of talent.

"Expendables 2" poised to repeat at box office

LOS ANGELES (TheWrap.com) - The dog days have arrived at the summer box office.

There are no new superheroes, sequels or kids films. The weekend's two widest openers - Sony's "Premium Rush" and "Hit and Run" from Open Road - are not expected to mount a challenge for the top spot. There's even a chance that a documentary, "2016 Obama's America," will crack the top ten.

Last week's No. 1 film, "Expendables 2" will keep the top spot with around $14 million, industry analysts say.

After that, it will be a scramble between "Bourne Legacy," which is in its third week, the two new wide openers and "ParaNorman" for the next several slots. All are projected to be in the $10 million range for the three days.

"Hit and Run," which opened Wednesday to $625,000, is expected to gross around $8 million. Dax Shepherd's comedy cost $2 million excluding marketing costs.

"Premium Rush," which Sony is rolling out on 2,100 screens, is an intriguing offering. The plot couldn't be much simpler: A bicycle messenger, played by Joseph Gordon-Levitt, is chased around New York City by a dirty cop who wants an envelope that the messenger is carrying.

It's directed by David Koepp, who teamed with John Kamps on the screenplay. Koepp is best known as the writer behind a number of blockbusters, including "Jurassic Park," "Mission Impossible" and "Spider-Man." He's also a part of the writing team on Paramount's upcoming and still untitled Jack Ryan project starring Chris Pine and Keira Knightly.

"Premium Rush," however, has more in common with another film written by Koepp, 2002's "Panic Room." In that one, directed by David Fincher, Jodie Foster and Kristen Stewart star as a mother and daughter who take refuge in a safe room during a break-in.

It stars Ashley Greene ("Twilight"), Sebastian Stan ("Captain America: The First Avenger") and Tom Felton ("Harry Potter").

Warner Bros. has it in roughly 800 locations.

A wildcard in the weekend mix is the anti-Barack Obama documentary, "2016: Obama's America." It's based on a book by conservative author Dinesh D'Souza, "The Roots of Obama's Rage."

Rocky Mountain Pictures is aggressively expanding the film, which purports to detail what will happen should the president be elected to a second term, into 1,075 theaters.

That's a big jump from the 169 theaters it played in last week, when it brought in $1.2 million, a $7,393 per-screen average.

The timing is right, with the Republican National Convention opening Monday in Tampa, Fla. Advance ticket sales were brisk according to online ticket broker Fandango, which reported that the documentary was outselling "The Expendables 2" on Wednesday.

Penn State Trustees Slated To Talk NCAA Sanctions, New President

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. -- NCAA sanctions and the search for a new university president are among topics to be discussed when Penn State trustees meet this weekend as part of an on-campus retreat.

The trustees office said on its website that public meetings would be held Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning.

A copy of the agenda obtained this week by The Associated Press showed topics including the NCAA sanctions to be discussed Sunday. The Centre Daily Times last week also obtained an earlier version of the agenda.

The landmark NCAA penalties for the Jerry Sandusky child sex abuse included a four-year bowl ban and a $60 million fine.

Rodney Erickson took over as president after Graham Spanier lost his job days after Sandusky was charged. Erickson has said he's not coming back after his contract expires in 2014.

The meeting comes about two weeks after the board held a conference call, in which the vast majority of trustees voiced support for Erickson's acceptance of severe penalties imposed by the NCAA over the school's handling of a scandal.

The panel could not vote because 10 days' notice of the meeting was required, an issue raised by two trustees at the start of the call. But more than two dozen members of the 32-member board then voiced support for Erickson's decision and a desire to move forward, although many criticized the NCAA sanctions themselves.

School officials have said that attempts to lessen sanctions didn't work, and that the NCAA had threatened to shut down the program entirely ? a punishment known as the "death penalty."

The NCAA's punishment was based on the findings by former FBI director Louis Freeh in his internal investigation for Penn State into the scandal. Freeh said Spanier, former coach Joe Paterno and two other school officials concealed allegations against Sandusky going back to 1998 ? conclusions vehemently denied by Spanier, the officials and Paterno's family.

Paterno died in January at age 85.

Most recently, Spanier ? through a series of interviews and via his lawyers at a Philadelphia news conference this week ? has portrayed himself as the innocent victim of a witch hunt and a rush to judgment by Freeh.

The agenda for the trustees' weekend meeting also lists Freeh report recommendations as a topic for Sunday.

The meeting begins Saturday with private sessions on governance, team building and an update on legal issues. Board committees are to meet in public session in the afternoon. Trustees are also scheduled a new student convocation in the evening.

Trustees have previously held retreats, but received some criticism for not holding public sessions or widely-publicizing the gathering.

Separately next week, the university's Faculty Senate at a regularly-scheduled meeting Tuesday is also slated to discuss the NCAA sanctions, and whether to make a public statement or send a statement to the NCAA on the issue.

Hi guys, this is a bit of a long story but I?ll try my best to explain it properly.

When I was 2 years of age, my mother and myself where in a horrific car crash and we both got compensation for it. She got $ 300,000.00 and I got $ 10,000.00. My mother blew her money away on drugs alcohol and shouting everyone drinks and renting out penthouse suits on the Gold coast in Australia, and didn?t put it in investment or bought a house. My money however was put into a trust account in my name and I wasn?t to have access to it until I turned 18 years of age, which I did in 2010. I went into foster care at age 11 because my mother is a horrific person who has no parental abilities what so ever (and that?s putting it mildly). I moved back with her (unwillingly) a couple of times during my teenage hood because I had no where else too go sometimes and at age 17 almost turning 18 I was living with her again. She said to me just before I turned 18 that she wanted my money so she can put it into a bank account in her name so I can?t have access to it to spend it unwisely and let it grow with interest. I refused at first but she practically fought with me every day over it and in the end I just gave out and said okay I am trusting you with this. This money is to help me in my future, please don?t screw me over.

Well, you guessed it. She did. Over the last year I have been in mortal finance danger and even fell pregnant at one stage and really needed my money and she refused to give it to me saying that I should get a job and do this and do that. I always gave out and said okay, I?ll try harder to make money. Then one day I was talking with my aunt and whens he found out my mum had a hold of my money she went beserk and said to me I have to get it back or she?ll spend it. So I rang my mum and said, listen I really need it and I?m not backing down. I want my money back.

My mum said to me across the phone, it?s not your money, it?s mine now. So I said to her I?m going to have to take you to court to get it back and she freaked out and said okay okay I?ll give it back (in text and verbal). So I waited week for her to give it back and she just had excuse after excuse for me, so in the end I just lodged the forms and had them delivered by bailiff.

Now I?m wondering, am I able to get my money back from the courts? Do I have a legal leg to stand on? And really think about this please, because it?s not just a ?oh it doesn?t matter cause you gave it to her willingly? We had a contract and she broke it and spent my money. Now I want some REAL legal advice from some one who knows law.

And please no nasty comments on how I?m an idiot. I already know that?
