Mrs., Guided News: Skills-Based Relationship Education Helps
Skills-based relationship programs help embattled marriages, especially those who fall in the low-income bracket,? according to a study by Supporting Healthy Marriage (SHM). SMH surveyed couples in four,? six-15 week long ?Relationship and Marriage Education? programs and found that they exhibited more positive behavior toward their spouses than their peers in a control group. Increased marital happiness and less relationship distress were also noted as byproducts of the educations programs.
??after decades of family breakdown trends, this is encouraging news,? says Healthy Relationships California (HRC) Vice President Patty Howell about the early findings. ?We know that skills-based Relationship and Marriage Education can make a very big difference in people?s lives and in family stability.?
